Which MYKO formula is right for me?+
Each MYKO formula is designed around a specific pathway:
- NEUROGENESIS — The cognitive-cornerstone formula. Lion's Mane (200mg, 7:1) paired with our Active Botanical for cognitive depth across a cycling protocol.
- ADAPT — Daily non-active foundation. A 5-Mushroom Complex (Reishi, Chaga, Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Turkey Tail) plus Shilajit. No cycling required.
- EMBODY — Immune-foundation cluster and embodied integration. Active Botanical with Chaga, Reishi, and Turkey Tail.
- CORTEX — Calm-alert focus under sustained load. Active Botanical with double-dose Cordyceps and 12:1 Reishi.
- EUPHORIA — The premium tier. Built around a rare-species Active Botanical reserved for this single formula.
- BESPOKE — Custom formulation tailored to your goals and experience level. Begins with a consultation.

How do I choose a dosing protocol?+
Three established frameworks:
- Stamets Protocol (4 on / 3 off) — One capsule daily for four days, three days off. Optionally paired with low-dose flush-form Niacin.
- Fadiman Protocol (1 on / 2 off) — One capsule every third day. Naturally cycled.
- Intuitive Protocol — One capsule as needed, based on your felt sense. Best for experienced users.
ADAPT note: ADAPT contains no Active Botanical, so it can be taken daily without cycling.
What should I take alongside my MYKO formula?+
Foundational: Magnesium Glycinate or L-Threonate
- Suggested range: 200–400mg with your evening meal
- L-Threonate is the form most studied for crossing the blood-brain barrier
- May support nervous system function and mineral balance
Optional (Stamets-style only): Niacin (Vitamin B3), flush-form, 25–50mg on dosing days. Not part of Fadiman or Intuitive protocols.
Magnesium and Niacin are companion ingredients, not requirements. Adjust under the guidance of your healthcare provider.
Can I take multiple MYKO formulas together?+
Yes — with one rule: do not stack two Active Botanical formulas on the same day.
- ADAPT can be paired with any other formula daily
- Example: ADAPT each morning; NEUROGENESIS on your Stamets dosing days
- NEUROGENESIS and EMBODY can alternate on different days
I'm new to functional mushrooms — where do I start?+
Start with ADAPT. It's the daily, non-active foundation formula.
- No Active Botanical — pure mushroom and Shilajit complex
- Daily use, no cycling required
- One capsule daily with food
After two to three weeks on ADAPT, explore an active formula like NEUROGENESIS or EMBODY with more context.
Ingredients & Formulation
What does the extract ratio (7:1, 8:1, 12:1) mean?+
Extract ratios describe how much raw fruiting body is reduced into the final extract.
- 7:1 — Seven units of raw fruiting body concentrated into one
- 8:1 — Eight-to-one concentration
- 12:1 — Higher-concentration extract used in our premium formulations
Higher ratios may indicate concentration, but species, extraction method, testing, and compound preservation matter just as much.
Do you use fruiting body or mycelium?+
Fruiting body extracts, not mycelium-on-grain.
- Fruiting body is the mushroom's reproductive structure, where most studied bioactives concentrate
- Mycelium-on-grain often contains a substantial proportion of starch substrate
- Our 7:1, 8:1, and 12:1 extracts are made from fruiting body material
What is the Active Botanical in MYKO formulas?+
The Active Botanical is the centerpiece of most MYKO formulas:
- Standard (NEUROGENESIS, EMBODY, CORTEX) — 100mg per capsule
- Premium tier (EUPHORIA) — 100mg of P. Ochra, a rare species with a distinct alkaloid profile
- ADAPT contains no Active Botanical — pure mushroom-and-Shilajit foundation
Why is Shilajit in every formula?+
Shilajit anchors every MYKO stack with its mineral and fulvic-acid composition.
- Composition: Trace minerals and fulvic acid sourced from high-altitude resin
- Role: Fulvic acid may support mineral transport and compound delivery
Are your capsules vegan?+
Yes — fully plant-based.
- Capsule shell: Vegetable cellulose (HPMC)
- Carrier: Rice flour
- Capsule size: 00 (standard)
- No animal-derived ingredients, no gelatin
Dosing & Protocols
When should I take my capsule?+
- Active formulas — empty stomach or light meal, mornings preferred
- ADAPT — any time of day with food; timing flexible for daily use
Why do I need to cycle?+
Cycling helps maintain sensitivity to active compounds over time.
- Stamets (4 on / 3 off): Four-day on, three-day rest cadence
- Fadiman (1 on / 2 off): One dose every third day
ADAPT is different: with no Active Botanical, cycling is not required.
What is Niacin and do I need it?+
Niacin (Vitamin B3, flush-form) is sometimes used in Stamets-style protocols.
- Typical range: 25–50mg on dosing days
- The flush: Mild tingling, warmth, or temporary redness for ~15–30 minutes
Optional, not universal: Niacin belongs to Stamets-style protocols. Fadiman and Intuitive protocols do not include it.
Why magnesium?+
Magnesium is foundational for nervous system function, hydration, and neurotransmitter pathways.
- L-Threonate form: The form most studied for crossing the blood-brain barrier
- Suggested range: 200–400mg daily with your evening meal
How long until I notice effects?+
- Subtle early shifts: 1–2 weeks. Many users report changes in mood, clarity, or sleep quality.
- Pathway support window: 4–8 weeks.
- Cumulative experience: Deeper shifts may emerge over time.
Stay with a protocol for at least four weeks before evaluating it.
Safety
Can I take MYKO with my medications?+
Always consult your healthcare provider before combining MYKO with any prescription medication.
- SSRIs, SNRIs: Use only under medical supervision
- MAOIs: Contraindicated due to serotonin syndrome risk
- Lithium: Absolute contraindication — do not combine
Are there any side effects?+
Most users tolerate MYKO formulas well.
- Digestive adjustment: Occasional sensitivity in the first few days; usually settles within 1–2 weeks
- If you experience discomfort: Reduce to half a capsule or pause for a week before retrying
Serious adverse effects are uncommon but possible. Always speak with your healthcare provider when in doubt.
Is MYKO safe during pregnancy or nursing?+
No. MYKO is not intended for use during pregnancy or while nursing.
Safety data is insufficient. Avoid all MYKO formulas during these periods.
Who should not take MYKO?+
Active formulas (all except ADAPT) are not appropriate for:
- Individuals taking lithium
- Individuals with a history of psychosis or Bipolar I disorder
- Pregnant or nursing individuals
- Anyone under 18 years old
- Individuals currently taking MAOIs
