The MYKO Ingredient Hub

A working monograph library for the mushrooms, mineral complexes, and botanical compounds inside MYKO formulas — each chosen for a specific role and graded against the strength of available evidence.

Educational only · not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
The Library

Every compound, by role.

Filter by what you're working on. Each card opens a full monograph with sourcing, mechanism, and evidence notes.

How We Grade

Evidence grading system.

A four-tier system adapted from evidence-based medicine — each tier signals how much weight the underlying research carries for a public claim.

Tier 1
Strong Human Evidence

Randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, or meta-analyses in humans. Strongest level for public-facing claims.

Tier 2
Moderate Evidence

Smaller human trials, open-label studies, cohort data, or strong translational evidence. Useful but qualified.

Tier 3
Mechanistic / Preclinical

Animal, in-vitro, traditional, or practitioner-supported evidence. Useful for formulation logic, not proof of human outcomes.

Tier 4
Emerging / Observational

Anecdotal, community, or early-stage reports. Useful for hypothesis generation only.

Concentration

What extract ratios mean.

Extract ratios denote how much raw material is concentrated into one unit of extract. A 7:1 ratio means 7 lbs of raw material reduced to 1 lb of extract.

Raw fruiting body

Whole mushroom as harvested — ~85% water. Contains the full spectrum of compounds, but at low concentration.

7:1 to 12:1 extract

Water removed via extraction; active compounds concentrated 7–12×. A 200mg extract capsule ≈ 1,400–2,400mg raw equivalent.

Why extracts matter

You'd need 8–10 capsules of raw powder to match the active load of one extract capsule. Extracts make real dosing practical.

MYKO uses fruiting-body extracts wherever possible — grain-based substrates dilute active compounds with starch. A higher ratio isn't automatically better; what matters is whether the extract preserves the relevant compounds and is tested for purity.

Read Before Use

Safety & contraindications.

Some compounds are not appropriate for everyone. If any of the following apply to you, consult a qualified healthcare professional first.

  • Lithium — absolute avoidance. Do not combine Active Botanical formulas with lithium. This is an absolute contraindication.
  • SSRIs / SNRIs / MAOIs. Serotonergic medications may alter effects or risk. Consult a healthcare professional before use.
  • Bipolar I / psychosis history. A personal or family history of psychosis or Bipolar I warrants avoiding Active Botanical Compounds unless under qualified medical supervision.
  • Pregnancy / nursing. Do not use during pregnancy or nursing unless cleared by a qualified healthcare professional.
  • Immune conditions / medication. Functional mushrooms may influence immune activity. Consult a professional if managing immune conditions or medication.
  • Niacin flush. Flush-form Niacin can cause warmth, redness, tingling, or temporary discomfort. Use within your own tolerance.

Built around mechanism, not trend.
